AFA Care Connection Webinar: Misunderstanding Pain in Dementia Care

September 14, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm UTC-5

Sharing her care partner experience, this webinar will discuss the experience of  the speaker and her father, who had Alzheimer’s Disease, was misdiagnosed as being “combative” and put on mood-altering drugs.  However, the issue was that he could not communicate he was in pain.  This webinar seeks to help those who are care partners for someone with dementia to understand how to recognize the signs and signals of pain, and to provide strategies to improve quality of life.
