We provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure.
Alzheimer's and dementia don't take a day off, so neither do we. Speak with a licensed social worker seven days a week!
AFA offers a variety of educational materials, support groups and information for family caregivers, as well as training for healthcare professionals. Click below to learn more about our caregiver resources.

February 1 begins #BlackHistoryMonth, when we recognize, honor, and celebrate the many contributions and achievements of those in the African American and Black communities.
Today, we lift up someone important in the #alzheimers medical community: Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller (1872–1953), a psychiatrist and #AlzheimersDisease pioneer who worked with Dr. Alois Alzheimer. He was a professor of pathology and neurology at Boston University who became one of only five research assistants selected to work in Alois Alzheimer’s laboratory at the Royal Psychiatric Hospital in Munich, which paved the way for trailblazing research on the disease.
We are grateful for his important contributions to the world of medicine.
