BRAIN DONATION: WHAT WE LEARN FROM EXAMINING THE BRAIN
Dr. Arline Faustin will give an overview of dementia and what neuropathologists look for/find in donated brains at autopsy. She will discuss how respectfully the body and brain are handled, what is done with the brain after the report is finalized, as well as the future steps in brain donation and why it is so important in the goal of combating Alzheimer’s disease.

Arline Faustin, M.D., is a clinical assistant professor of Anatomic Pathology & Neuropathology at NYU Langone Health, where she is also associate director of the Pathology Residency Program. Dr. Faustin also been newly appointed as the director of the Neuropathology Core at the NYU Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
