AFA offers multiple programs for organizations which provide dementia care or serve individuals living with dementia to elevate their skills and attain a national standard of excellence.
Excellence in Care (EIC) is AFA’s national accreditation for dementia care settings. Care settings can earn the title “Excellence in Care Dementia Care Program of Distinction” after successfully undergoing an extensive on-site, in-person evaluation of staff, procedures, and environment, ensuring best practices in dementia care. Settings which successfully complete the evaluation become EIC sites and receive an EIC distinction award which can be display on your website and informational materials.
Professional Foundations: Organizational Training Program is a national certification program for organizations to become certified in comprehensive care for those living with dementia-related illnesses. Organizations that complete the Professional Foundations: Organizational Training Program receive a certificate to display on promotional materials and their website. All organizations that receive the certification are recommended to those who reach out to AFA’s Helpline, staffed by all licensed social workers.
