Women & Alzheimer’s: The Empowerment Forum
October 2, 2024 @ 9:45 am – 1:00 pm EDT
Harvard Club of New York City
35 West 44th Street, New York, NY 10036
Women have a greater lifetime risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease, and account for two-thirds of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease in the United States, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Additionally, two-thirds of Alzheimer’s caregivers are women, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The event is designed to help provide women with up-to-date, practical skills and information to live a higher quality of life and provide better care, as well as reduce risk through social change. It will give them a better understanding of the increased risk to women, to prepare them for the caregiving journey and encourage them to speak up, address their concerns and have their questions answered. Guest speakers will include family caregivers and medical and dementia care experts who will share their expertise.
