Virtual Community Class: Nature Visit: Quogue Wildlife Refuge
September 14, 2020 @ 2:30 pm EDT
Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a 305-acre nature preserve nestled in the Village of Quogue, NY. There are seven miles of nature trails located among a variety of habitats, including the Pine Barrens and deciduous forests, freshwater ponds, carnivorous and cranberry bogs, and the ecologically rare Dwarf Pines. The Refuge also serves as home to permanently injured, non-releasable wildlife, including a Bald Eagle, Red Fox, Bobcat, Owls, Falcons, and Hawks.
Join Quogue Wildlife Refuge for a peak at some of their nocturnal residents! Whoooo calls in the forest at night? Environmental educators from the Quogue Wildlife Refuge will present a variety of live nocturnal animals that call the Refuge home. Learn all about the amazing physical adaptations that each nocturnal animal has, as well as their diets and habitats. Discussion will also include native New York nocturnal wildlife.
