Virtual Community Class: Gardening with Sallie

Join Horticultural Therapist, Sallie Stutz for a fun virtual gardening activity. In this virtual class, you will learn about Oxalis varieties and their association with St. Patrick’s Day. This will be a corm (small bulb) planting activity that will result in a beautiful late spring blooming plant. Basic plant and planting information, its unique characteristics, and its native environments will be discussed. The participants will also learn how to plant/transplant one and how to care for it. This plant is considered one of the “heirloom” plants that get passed down from one generation to another.
Supplies
- Tray
- Oxalis corns or plant
- Container, dish, or pot-4-10”
- Potting soil
- Spoon or scoop
- Saucer or small plate
- Plant label with a pen
- Small Watering can, or pitcher
