Virtual Community Class: Art with Marnie
June 15, 2020 @ 2:30 pm EDT
Branches of Meaning and Hope Stones – During this virtual art class, we will be creating “branches of meaning” or “hope rocks/stones” or both! Some benefits of this art process include relaxation or self-soothing, connecting with nature, increasing feelings of self-empowerment, hope and creating tangible objects of meaning. These branches or rocks/stones can act as a visual reminder of a wish, hope or intention that you desire to hold onto or to send out into the world.
Supplies: One or more tree branches/sticks or a or dowel of some sort and/or mostly smooth rocks or stones that are large enough to draw/write/paint on, colorful yarn, string and/or ribbon (if working with branches) OR paint and/or permanent markers, paint markers or any markers you have; and glue and small pieces of paper (optional).
To protect the health and safety of our participants and staff during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, AFA’s community classes will be held online through our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/alzheimersfoundationofamerica. Visit the page at the listed event date/time to take part.
