Join social workers from AFA’s helpline in a monthly, interactive forum over Zoom. These forums give busy caregivers and those impacted by dementia a weekend opportunity to get information and support concerning issues that are relevant to them. These forums will occur on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

This month’s topic is The Impact of Alcohol Use Among Those with Dementia, hosted by licensed AFA Helpline Social Worker, Natasha Burton, LMSW. Over Zoom, Natasha will offer information and resources, provide case vignettes, and generate discussion among attendees, with topics including:

• A discussion on the impact of alcohol use on those with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illnesses 

• Things to consider if seeking treatment of alcohol use disorders for older adults with underlying dementia-related illnesses

• Strategies to prevent/reduce the frequency of loved ones drinking
