Care Connection Webinar: Addressing Behavioral & Psychological Symptoms of Dementia

About 90% of people with dementia will experience behavioral & psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) sometime over the course of their illness. BPSD can be distressing to the person and their caregivers, can affect a person’s ability to live independently, and can be dangerous.
We will discuss how to assess BPSD and how to manage them, with a focus on behavioral and environmental interventions.

Art Walaszek, M.D.
Dr. Art Walaszek is Vice Chair for Education and Faculty Development at the University of Wisconsin, Department of Psychiatry. He directs the public health pillar of the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute and is co-leader of the Outreach, Recruitment and Engagement Core at the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Dr. Walaszek’s expertise is in assessing & managing behavioral & psychological symptoms of dementia, which can be disabling and dangerous for both patients and their caregivers.
