Care Connection Webinar: Living with Alzheimer’s Disease: Coping with Loss Through the Use of Art Therapy

December 10, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST

In this virtual webinar, addressing the topic, “Living with Alzheimer’s Disease: Coping with Loss Through the Use of Art Therapy,” Ms. Berry will explore art therapy as a tool for coping – in general and during periods of grief. Through guidance and direction, she will discuss the benefits of expressive art making as a therapeutic strategy, in order to help manage the build up of emotions that many individuals have felt over the past few months. This webinar specifically focuses on examining interventions to work through a loss. This could be a physical loss of a loved one, or a theoretical loss, such as freedom or sense of self.  Through examples of the utilization of art-making, we will identify new coping skills, and demonstrate therapeutic techniques on how to safely hold the space for your emotions.
