AFA Care Connection Sunset Series: Learning to “Talk the Talk” About Dementia
March 15 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
Course Description: During this workshop, participants will learn more how to “talk the talk” about dementia. Health care professionals have a unique ability to know more about their clients than most. This workshop will help you better understand dementia-related illness and how to talk about it with your aging community. The sooner we can start the conversation about brain health and wellness, the larger opportunity there is for an individual to provide input into their medical health as well as what meaningful living will look like for them as they age, with or without dementia.
From this training, you will learn to:
- Define and describe the signs and symptoms of dementia related illnesses
- Apply strategies for communicating concerns about memory
- Identify early interventions for evaluating memory changes
- Plan next steps to best assist your community members
