We provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure.
Alzheimer's and dementia don't take a day off, so neither do we. Speak with a licensed social worker seven days a week!

The AFA team enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of music with Sicilian composer/pianist Angelo Di Leonforte Music who performed his newest composition, “Hope,” to help raise optimism and possibility for the Alzheimer’s community.
Grateful to Eisai for showcasing such an inspirational, talented musician.

Eighteen years ago this month, AFA’s first national magazine was published. Called Vantage at the time, the publication’s purpose was to “empower caregivers with practical knowledge on how to care for loved ones,” including “counsel and tips on a wide variety of topics, from the medical and practical to the emotional and inspirational.”
While the publication’s name has changed—today it’s Alzheimer’s TODAY—our commitment to empower caregivers remains the same. You can catch up on our current issue here: alzfdn.org/media-center/alztoday/

A wonderful “Tiny Little Love Story” from The New York Times
“A Little Bit of Everything”
“I’m sorry I’m stupid,” my father mumbles. When he struggles to find a word or finish a sentence because of his #dementia, he hides his embarrassment and frustration by making this heart-wrenching statement. “Dad, you are not stupid,” I automatically respond. To change the subject, I ask, “What have you been doing today?” Dad’s wicked sense of humor, one that he inherited from his father, generates an immediate answer: “Oh, a little bit of everything, the easy tasks twice.” Someday dad will forget even his sense of humor, but for now, thankfully, we can laugh together. — Hollyahna Vettori
